  1. Strength is key. [open]

The world was made so that it was possible for everyone to do everything on their own. The goal of a person was to become fully independent and achieve their own goals through their own will, and not through dumb luck nor through help from others. Dependency was dangerous, and friendship was a trap. The more you’re attached to someone, the more emotionally invested you become in them, the more you start wanting to always call on their help to work on even the simplest of tasks, and the more you lose your ability to do things on your own. You feel lonely when they’re not around, and if you complain, it just stresses both parties out. You had to be a responsible adult, not a sobbing child.

Dependency was a weakness, and that’s what Satoko believed.

She was stupid for latching onto her brother’s arm and hiding behind his back whenever their aunt came to punish her, because he would always be forced to take responsibility for her, and he would never be able to get any rest because of her. She had no idea what her dependency had on his mentality, and one day, he just snapped, gave up, and ran away. That’s why Satoko was willing to forgive Mion for throwing her across the room that one day; it was because Satoko fully deserved it, especially for crying over something as simple as a spilled lunch.

Now that Satoko lived with her uncle, even though he did abuse her at times, she has learned to put up with it, especially since it was also very easy to manipulate him, considering how much of a simpleton he was. As long as she did the chores around the house, as long as she could cook for herself, she was fine. Save for maybe an hour of verbal slanders and/or a bruise on the face from a hard slap, if Teppei did anything more to her, she could simply call child abuse on him. For him, life insurance money and inheritance money was at stake, and she knew he didn’t want that.

Then again, if she really did feel compelled to call child abuse, wouldn’t that also mean she couldn’t handle the pressures of the real world? Such case was close for her for a few days now, when her uncle for some reason started punishing her for very miniscule things, and she had to run out of the house and hide before she unconsciously screamed for her brother’s help.

Don’t worry, don’t worry, there are worse cases in this world, you should be fortunate to even have what you have now…

  2. ((I’m not dead!))

((Last few weeks of the 3rd quarter are disgustingly hectic, what with AP preparations coming around the corner and whatnot, super fun right? Anyways, hopefully this week (and if not this, then next during spring break when I definitely have time) I’ll write up a new open that will give a little more light on Satoko’s situation in this new world, and hopefully it’ll be good o(`ω´*)o!))

  4. Intro to the new Kakera

Hanyuu listened to Rika’s reply and thought a moment before answering.

“I guess it is possible that Irie, Takano, and Tomitake live outside of Hinamizawa, nano desu. And, yes, I didn’t see any parents, nano desu.”

“…there is a possibility that Satoko lives with me and Satoshi lives with Keiichi.”

“So if we find any of Satoko’s things she’s living here and that will automatically mean that Satoshi is living with Keiichi, nano desu?” Hanyuu asked.

After she finished speaking she followed Rika to see if any of Satoko’s things were in the house.

“Yes, that’s right, and if we don’t find any of her things it could mean Satoko is living with Satoshi somewhere.” She paused. “Possibly with their aunt and uncle, but who knows. Anyways, let’s go Hanyuu.”

Rika proceeded to go to the room where Satoko usually kept all of her things in the past worlds. She grabbed the doorknob firmly and slowly opened the door. Rika was surprised by what she saw, her friend Satoko was sitting right there in that room.

    “Satoko!”

Unfortunately, Rika will soon be as surprised as Satoko is for bearing witness to an unusually (and genuinely?) happy expression that suddenly appeared on her blue-haired peer’s face. The Satoko of this world was not entirely the same as previous worlds, in both history as well as maybe mannerisms.

“Jeez, Furude-san, what’s up with the bubbly face all of the sudden? I’m just visiting to return the shoyu bottle you lent me the other day, but when I came here your door was open and you didn’t seem to be around. Sorry for intruding, I’ll be leaving now. It’s almost supper time with my relatives!”

And without making any further chat nor eye contact with the other, Satoko quickly took the sauce bottle out of her backpack and placed it on a nearby shelf, before getting ready to put her shoes on.

  5. Ara ara, Rena-san seems to be getting pretty popular nowadays!

((Sorry for the late update orz

But anyways, I talked to Satoshi-mun and he chose Satoko living with Rika and Satoshi living with Keiichi. What do you guys think?))

((That’s fine with me. I guess we should wait for Hanyuu-mun to finish the reply and then Rika could go look for Satoko and that’s when you join in. Or we could start a new post? What do you think? Also I might be kind of late on the replies because my computer has been acting up a lot recently and it could take a week or so for my dad to fix it, i’ll try to find a replacement for the next week.))

((Sorry! Went into the city yesterday and the day before so I’m freaking tired. x_x That sounds good to me! I could whip up a reply later or tomorrow for Rika and then Rika and Satoko could do an RP or something?? Or Rika and I could continue ours? I guess those are our options.))

((I think I’ll come in when Rika goes to look for Satoko after Hanyuu replies, if that’s alright with you both!))

  8. ((orz really sorry for not being active on here! But anyways, just to make sure I’m not confusing things here, since Satoshi and Shion are in Hinamizawa this is a Rei-type world, right? If so, I…may or may not have Satoko living at Rika’s house like she usually is, unless Hanyuu-mun and Rika-mun really want to keep it the same.))

  9. YOU SHOULD RUN TO YOUR HOUSE AND BRING SPIDERWEBS AND PICTURES OF SCORPIONS

    answer:

    “…And for what reason exactly?”

  10. Well, hello there miss :3 Might I ask you for some directions? You see, I'm new to this village and I'm not entirely sure where the school is xD; Awkward. Do you go to school here?
    asked by inducedparanoia
    answer:

“The school? Sure, I can show you where it is, it’s not far from here anyways.” She jumps down from the shrine steps and walks next to the girl to lead the way. “So did you just move in, or are you an exchange student? Either way, we haven’t had any newcomers for a long while, so it’s nice to meet you! The name’s Satoko!”
